Delicious Ghee Mysore Pak

Ghee mysore pak is a rich burfi or Indian sweet. For this we need just three ingredients. It turns simply delicious and just melts in mouth. This looks nice, perfectly like the one that we get in Mithai shop. It gets that perfect color. This turns out soft and juicy. It needs very few ingredients those are easily available in your pantry. This is a popular Indian sweet. As the name suggests it is originated in the Mysore, hence the name. The aroma of ghee and the sofr texture of this sweet makes it super rice and delicious. This is a rice and delicious recipe. It turns out super soft and just melts in mouth. Previously I have shown you the harder and porous version of it. But I received lot many requests to show soft mysore pak. So, here I am with the recipe. It is time consuming and be ready for arm workout. But after seeing and / or tasting the end result you will think that it is all worth it.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Ghee
  • 1/2 cup Oil
  • 1 cup Besan
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

Step 1: Heat up ghee and oil together and let it melt. Keep it aside.

Step 2: Sieve besan in a bowl and add half of the ghee mixture. Mix everything well together.

Step 3: For making sugar syrup, heat up sugar and water in a pan and bring it to boil.

Step 4: When sugar melts and mixture boils turn the heat to low and cook for another 5-6 minutes.

Step 5: Take a little of syrup into a dish and let it cool down. Check between your fingers. The syrup should be a little sticky.

Step 6: Transfer the besan mixture into the syrup and mix in quickly.

Step 7: Cook it well for about 7-8 minutes until it thickens up a little.

Step 8: Add a ladleful of ghee mixture into the besan mixture and mix well.

Step 9: Cook on low heat until it is absorbed into the besan mixture.

Step 10: Repeat the process until all the ghee mixture is absorbed into besan mixture. 

Step 11: Take out a little mixture in a dish and check if it comes together nicely. It means the mixture is cooked well. Turn off the gas.

Step 12: Line up a tray with butter paper and pour the mysore pak mixture into it. Tap the tray well.

Step 13: Cover and rest for about 30 minutes.

Step 14: Cut it into pieces and flip the tray over into a dish.

Step 15: Remove the butter paper and mysore pak is all ready.

 

Notes

  • Make sure all the ghee mixture is absorbed before adding new mixture.
