Ingredients

  • 5 Tomatoes
  • Small piece of Beet root
  • 2 Garlic cloves
  • 1 Green chili
  • Cinnamon stick
  • 2 tsp Water
  • 1 tsp Butter
  • 1/2 tsp Chili flakes
  • 1/4 tsp Mixed herbs
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper powder
  • 2 Bread slices
  • Butter

Thick, creamy tomato soup

Instructions

Step 1: Steam tomatoes, beet, garlic, green chili, cinnamon, water together on medium heat for 15 minutes.

Step 2: Remove the cinnamon stick and blend the mixture into puree in mixer.

Step 3: Strain the puree into a pan and add butter.

Step 4: Add chili flakes, mixed herbs, salt, black pepper powder and mix well.

Step 5: Turn on the gas on medium heat and simmer soup on medium heat for about 5 minutes. Tomato soup is ready.

Step 6: For making croutons, cut bread into pieces.

Step 7: Heat up a pan on medium heat and spread butter on it.

Step 8: Place the bread pieces on the pan and roast the lower side well on low to medium heat until it turns nice golden.

Step 9: Flip the pieces over and toast them well from other side too. Croutons are ready.

Step 10: You can serve these as it is or sprinkle mixed herbs, chili flakes. Toss well.

 

 

Notes

  • You can cook tomatoes for about 10 minutes in a pan too.
  • You can skip straining of the puree if you don’t want.
  • You can add water to adjust the consistency of the soup if you want.
  • You can cut off edges of the bread if you want.
