Easy, delicious Chocolate Burfi

Chocolate burfi is a very easy and simple that tastes just awesome. Burfi is a must recipe for Diwali. If it is chocolate burfi then everybody just loves it. Today we are making chocolate burfi perfectly like the one that gets in Mithai shop using a simple trick. The secret ingredient that we using, gives perfect binding, texture to the burfi. It tastes nice and turns out nice and soft. You can try this recipe at home.

Chocolate burfi is a very popular and all time favorite recipe. The secret ingredient, maida gives nice color and perfect texture. It also reduces the cooking time of the burfi. Chocolate burfi turns out nice, soft and is simply delicious.

Ingredients

  • 500 gm Khava / Mawa
  • 1/2 cup +1~2 tsp Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Maida
  • 2~3 drops Vanilla essence
  • 2 tsp unsweetened Cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp Dark chocolate
  • Silver work

Instructions

Step 1: Heat up a pan on medium heat and add khava.

Step 2: Fry khava on medium heat for about 7-8 minutes. No need to change the color of khava.

Step 3: Add sugar and mix well. Fry both together for another 4-5 minutes.

Step 4: To avoid this step sieve maida into the mixture and mix well quickly.

Step 5: Add a little maida at a time and mix in quickly.

Step 6: Cook everything well together for another 4-5 minutes.

Step 7: Add vanilla essence and mix well.

Step 8: Line up a tray with butter paper and transfer 3/4th of the mixture into it.

Step 9: Spread the base evenly and tap the tray well.

Step 10: In the remaining mixture add unsweetened cocoa powder, dark chocolate and mix well.

Step 11: Transfer the mixture into the tray and spread evenly.

Step 12:  Tap the tray really good let it set for about 5-6 hours or overnight.

Step 13: You can cover the tray once it cools down completely.

Step 14: Take the burfi out and decorate with silver work.

Step 15: Cut the burfi into the shape and size you want and chocolate burfi is all ready.

Step 16: You can store this burfi in an airtight container for about 3-4 days at room temperature and for about a week in freeze.

Notes

  • After cooking the mixture for about 4-5 minutes after adding sugar, you can continue cooking the mixture for another 15-20 minutes until thickens up really good. But it changes the color and texture of the khava.
  • Maida gives nice color and perfect texture.
  • You can use 1/2 cup milk powder in place of maida.

This chocolate burfi turns out perfectly like the one that we get in mithai shop. It is nice, soft but not sticky. Kids and adults will love this delicious chocolate burfi.
