If you want to make uttapam then you can’t make it instantly. You need to soak dal, rice then bland them and later fermenting the batter. But today we will make instant uttapam using suji. It tastes yummy and can be made in a jiffy. Adding the special masala will enhance the taste of this uttapam. You can try this instant recipe and drop a comment for me. Ingredients

  • 1 cup fine Suji / Semolina
  • 1/2 tsp Baking soda
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 cup Curd
  • 1 cup Water
  • Kanda lasun masala
  • Red chili powder
  • Chat masala
  • Finely chopped Onion
  • Deseeded and finely chopped Tomato
  • Finely chopped Capsicum
  • Oil

Instructions

  • Take suji in a bowl and add soda, salt.
  • You can blend coarse suji 2-3 times and use it in place of fine suji.
  • Mix well and add curd.
  • Mix well and add water.
  • Mix well to make batter of similar consistency to dosa batter.
  • Cover and rest the batter for 15 minutes.
  • Take the batter and mix well once.
  • Heat up a pan on medium heat.
  • Spread oil and add batter on the pan.
  • Spread the batter and sprinkle kanda lasun masla.
  • You can use garam masala, pav bhaji masala, chicken masala or any other masala that is available with you in place of kanda lasun masala.
  • Sprinkle red chili powder, chat masala, onion, tomato, capsicum and press the veggies a little so that these won’t fall off.
  • Sprinkle a little red chili powder on the veggies.
  • Spread oil and flip the uttapam over after roasting it well from one side for about 3 minutes.
  • Roast it from other side for just about a minute. The sabzis should not burn.
  • When roasted well from both sides take the uttapam off into a dish.
  • Suji uttapam is all ready.
  • You can serve this with chutney or sauce or sambar.
