With Christmas round the corner a cake recipe is a must. Here is a very easy and simple mawa cake recipe. This is eggless cake and we will be making it in a cooker. Ingredients

  • 4 tsp or about 50 gm Butter
  • 1/2 cup Powdered Sugar
  • 1 cup Maida
  • 1/2 tsp Baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 cup Milk
  • 1/4 cup grated Khoya / Mawa
  • 1/4 tsp Cardamom powder
  • Few sliced Almonds
  • Few chopped Pistachios

Instructions

  • Add a thin layer of salt at the base of the cooker.
  • Remove the whistle, ring from the lid & close the cooker.
  • Preheat the cooker on medium heat for about 10 minutes.
  • In a bowl take butter. It should be at room temperature, soft one.
  • Add powdered sugar and mix well.
  • Beat the mixture really good for about 4-5 minutes until it becomes light and fluffy. ‘
  • Sieve maida, baking powder and baking soda into the butter mixture.
  • Mix maida and butter carefully.
  • Add milk and mix well.
  • Add khoya and fold it well into the mixture.
  • Add cardamom powder and mix well.
  • The batter should be thick and not loose or soft.
  • If the batter becomes loose the cake deflates after cooling.
  • Take the cake tin and grease it well with oil or butter or ghee.
  • Spread butter paper at the base of the tin.
  • Transfer the batter into the cake tin and spread it well.
  • Spread almonds, pistachios on the batter and the cake tin is ready to bake.
  • Take the preheated cooker and put an empty pot at the base.
  • Put a dish on the pot and cake tin on the dish.
  • Close the lid and bake the cake on medium heat for about 30-45 minutes.
  • After 40 minutes, turn off the gas. Let the cake be in the cooker for another 5 minutes.
  • Take the cake out and let it cool down completely.
  • Insert a toothpick at the center of the cake. If it comes out clean then it means the cake is cooked inside out.
  • Loosen the edges of the cake with a knife and take the cake out into a plate.
  • Remove the butter paper and flip the cake over.
  •  Mawa cake is already.
