Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Chana dal
  • Chopped Green chili
  • Radish
  • 1/2 Lemon juice
  • Salt to taste
  • Sugar as per taste
  • 2 tsp Oil
  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  • A pinch of Hing
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • Finely chopped Coriander leaves

How to make mulyacha chatka

Instructions

Step 1: Wash chana dal really good 2-3 times and soak it in enough water for about 2-3 hours.

Step 2: Drain all the water from soaked chana dal.

Step 3: Transfer it into a mortar and pestle and pound coarsely.

Step 4: Add green chili and pound it into coarse paste again.

Step 5: Add green chili and pound it into coarse paste again.

Step 6: Transfer it into a bowl.

Step 7: Wash radish really good and peel it.

Step 8: Grate the radish and squeeze out water from it.

Step 9: Add the grated radish into the dal and mix well.

Step 10: Add lemon juice, salt and sugar and mix everything well together.

Step 11: Heat up oil in a tadka pan and add mustard seeds.

Step 12: When mustard seeds pop up, add cumin seeds, hing and turmeric powder and mis well.

Step 13: Let the tadka cool down and add it into the radish mixture.

Step 14: Mix well and add coriander leaves. Mulyacha chatka is ready.

Notes

  • You can blend it in mixer too.
  • Make sure you add tadka into the chatka once it cools down completely.
  • You can have it as side dish or koshimbir.
