For making medu vada you need planning. What I mean to say is, you need to soak the urad dal for at least 3-4 hours and then blending and whisking the batter really good. But today we are making instant medu vada so that you can make it whenever you want. You are free from soaking and blending process!! This is an instant and quick recipe that tastes yummy.

Ingredients

  • Bread slices
  • 1/2 cup fine Rava / Suji
  • 1/2 cup Curd
  • 2 finely chopped Green chilies
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp grated Ginger
  • Finely chopped Coriander leaves
  • Water as needed
  • Oil for frying

Bread medu vada recipe

Instructions

Step 1: Cut the bread slices into big chunks and transfer them into a food processor.

Step 2: Blend it into bread crumbs and add rava.

Step 3: Blend it well together and transfer the mixture into a dish.

Step 4: Add curd and mix well.

Step 5: Add green chili, salt, cumin seeds, ginger and coriander leaves and mix everything well together.

Step 6: Add a little water at a time and knead semi soft dough.

Step 7: Roll out medu vade from it and smooth out the edges.

Step 8: Heat up oil in a pan and drop vade into it.

Step 9: Fry vade on medium to high heat from both sides until it gets nice golden color.

Step 10: When vada is fried well from lower side, flip it over and fry well from other side too.

Step 11: When vade are fried well, take them out, drain excess oil and transfer them into a dish. Bread medu vada is ready.

Notes

  • You can use mixer in place of food processor or crumble the bread with hands too.
  • It can be a good option for kids’ lunch box or evening snack or go to snack.
