Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Pohe
  • 1 boiled, peeled and mashed Potato
  • 1~2 tsp chopped Red capsicum
  • 1~2 tsp chopped Yellow capsicum
  • 1~2 tsp chopped Green capsicum
  • Finely chopped Coriander leaves
  • Chili  flakes as per taste
  • Mixed herbs
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper powder
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic paste
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  • Take pohe in a bowl and wash them well with water.
  • Drain all the water and rest them for about 5 minutes.
  • Transfer the soaked pohe into a dish and mash them with hand.
  • Add potato, red capsicum, yellow capsicum, green capsicum, coriander leaves, chili flakes, mixed herbs, black pepper powder, garlic paste, turmeric powder, salt and mix everything well together.
  • Knead it like dough.
  • You can roll vade and fry them now.
  • Transfer the dough into a tray that is lined at the base with wax paper and spread it evenly.
  • Cover and set it in freeze for about an hour.
  • Loosen the edges and take it out.
  • Cut it into pieces of shape and size you want.
  • You can either shallow fry these or deep fry too.
  •  Heat up oil in a pan.
  • Drop vade in hot oil and fry well until these get nice golden color form all sides.
  • When vade get nice golden color from both sides, take them out, drain excess oil and transfer into a dish.
  • Poha vade are all ready.
  • You can pack these for your kids’ lunch box too.
  • You can have these vade as it is or with chutney or sauce.
  • You can set these vade in freeze and fry whenever you want.
  • If these open up while frying add 1-2 tsp corn flour, mix well and then fry.
