Ingredients

  • 1 cup Pohe / Flattened rice
  • 2 tsp finely chopped Capsicum
  • Finely chopped Onion
  • Finely chopped Coriander leaves
  • Finely chopped Green chili
  • Cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Red chili powder
  • Turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  • Take pohe into a strainer and wash them 3-4 times really good with water.
  • Soak pohe in water for just 1 minute.
  • No need to soak longer than 1 minute.
  • Drain the water. Cover and rest pohe for just 5 minutes.
  • When pohe are soaked well transfer them into a plate and mash with hand.
  • When pohe are kneaded well add capsicum, onion, coriander leaves, green chili, cumin seeds, red chili powder, turmeric powder, salt and knead everything really good.
  • Dough for pohyanche vade is all ready.
  • Make small vade from the dough.
  • Heat up oil on medium heat in a pan.
  • Drop vade in hot oil and fry them until these get nice golden color from all sides.
  • Take vade out, drain excess oil and transfer them into a dish.
  • Pohyanche vade are all ready.
  • You can make appe or cutlets form the dough if you don’t want to deep fry the vade.
  • You can have these vade as it is or with tomato sauce or chutney.
