Healthy Soya Chaap Masala

Soya chap masala is a very easy and simple recipe. It is a healthy and tasty recipe too. We are not deep frying soya chap and the masala is also easy and quick to make. We are using a secret ingredient to enhance the taste of this recipe. This recipe turns out perfectly like the one that we have at dhaba. It has that perfect color, texture and taste too. I am using only one masala. You can try this recipe at home and drop a comment for me.

This is a very healthy recipe as soya is rich in proteins and we are not frying the chaap. For vegetarians soya is rich source of proteins. Some people don’t like soya. But if you try it in this way, then I am sure all will love it. If you like spicy food then this is a good option for you.

Ingredients

  • 4~5 Soya chap
  • 2 tsp Oil
  • 1 tsp Garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp Red chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 3 medium size chopped Onions
  • 2 chopped Tomatoes
  • 3 tsp Oil
  • 1 tsp Ginger-Garlic paste
  • 1 tsp Garam masala
  • 1 tsp Red chili powder
  • 1 tsp Besan
  • Water
  • Salt to taste
  • Finely chopped Coriander leaves

Soya Masala

Instructions

Step 1: Remove the soya chap from the sticks and cut them in about 1/2” pieces.

Step 2: Heat up oil in a pan and shallow fry the soya chap pieces in it. Shallow fry the soya chap well from all sides until it get nice golden color.

Step 3: When soya chap are fried well sprinkle garam masala, red chili powder, salt and toss well.

Step 4: Blend onion and tomato into puree in blender. 

Step 5: Heat up oil in a pan and add the puree.

Step 6: Fry the mixture on medium heat well for about 10-12 minutes until it begins to release oil.

Step 7: Add ginger-garlic paste and mix well.

Step 8: Add garam masala, red chili powder and fry together for about a minute.

Step 9: Move the masala along the edge of the pan and add besan in the remaining space.

Step 10: Roast the besan for about a minute and mix it well with the masala.

Step 11: Add water, salt and mix well.

Step 12: When the mixture begins to boil add the shallow fried soya chap and mix well.

Step 13: Simmer the gravy on medium heat for about 7-8 minutes. 

Step 14: Add coriander leaves and soya chap masala is all ready.

Notes

  • You can deep fry the soya chap if you want.
  • No need to add water while blending as onion and tomato has lot of moisture.
  • You can serve it with naan or roti.
