Ingredients

  • 1 tsp Oil
  • Chopped Onion
  • Chopped Capsicum
  • 5 sliced Onions
  • 3 chopped Tomatoes
  • Garlic cloves
  • 1/2” chopped Ginger
  • Few Cashew nuts
  • 3 tsp Butter
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1 tsp Garam masala
  • 1 tsp Red chili powder
  • Hot Water
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp Kasuri methi
  • 250 gm Paneer cubes
  • A piece of Coal
  • 1 Onion slice
  • 1 tsp Butter

Paneer angara recipe

Instructions

Step 1: Heat up oil in a pan and add onion, capsicum.

Step 2: Fry it together for about 2-3 minutes and take it out into a dish. Avoid over cooking the veggies.

Step 3: For making masala, in the same oil add onion, tomatoes, garlic, ginger, cashew nuts.

Step 4: Fry everything together until onion gets nice golden color.

Step 5: Turn off the gas and let it cool down.

Step 6: Transfer the mixture into a blender jar and blend it into smooth paste.

Step 7: Avoid use of water while blending. Masala is ready.

Step 8: Heat up butter in a pan and add blended masala.

Step 9: Fry the masala really good.

Step 10: Add coriander powder, garam masala, red chili powder and fry everything together for about 2-3 minutes until masale release oil.

Step 11: When masale release oil, add hot water, salt and mix well

Step 12: Simmer the gravy for on medium heat for about 3-4 minutes.

Step 13: Add kasuri methi and mix well.

Step 14: Add paneer, fried veggies and mix well.

Step 15: Cook everything together on medium heat for just 2-3 minutes.

Step 16: Turn off the gas and paneer angara is ready.

Step 17: For giving smoke flavour to the sabzi, heat up coal on gas.

Step 18: Place a slice of onion carefully on the sabzi and place the hot coal on it.

Step 19: Add butter on the coal and cover it immediately.

Step 20: Rest it for 5 minutes and take out the coal and onion slice. Paneer angara is all ready.

Notes

  • You can use oil or ghee in place of butter for giving smoke flavor
  • You can serve it with naan, paratha or fulka too.
