Traditional Konkani Paangi Recipe

Paangi is a traditional Konkani recipe. It is very easy and simple recipe. This recipe doesn’t need lot many ingredients. You can make it from very few ingredients those are readily available in any basic kitchen. It turns out nice, soft and simply delicious. Ingredients

  • 1 cup Milk
  • 3/4 cup powdered Sugar
  • Cardamom powder
  • 2 tsp Butter
  • Fruit salt
  • Rice flour as needed
  • Ghee

Konkani paangi

Instructions

Step 1: Mix milk, powdered sugar and cardamom powder well and let the sugar dissolve.

Step 2: Add butter, fruit salt and mix well.

Step 3: Add rice flour and mix well. The batter should have pouring consistency. No lumps of rice flour should be formed.

Step 4: Grease a banana leaf well with ghee and add batter on it.

Step 5: Grease another banana leaf well with ghee and cover the paangi with it.

Step 6: Heat up a pan on medium heat and transfer the banana leaf on it.

Step 7: Roast the paangi well from both sides.

Step 8: When lower side is roasted well, flip the paangi and roast it well from other side too.

Step 9: Again flip the paangi over and take it off on a wire rack. Paangi is ready.

Notes

  • Serve paangi with ghee.
  • If you don’t want sweet paangi then add green chili, coriander leaves and salt in the batter and serve that paangi with chutney.
