Ingredients

  • 2 tsp Oil
  • 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
  • A pinch of Hing
  • Garlic cloves
  • Curry leaves
  • Finely chopped Onion
  • Finely chopped Tomato
  • 1 tbsp Sunday masala
  • Red chilli powder
  • 2~3 tsp roasted peanut powder
  • Chopped Capsicum
  • Salt to taste
  • 1~2 tsp Water
  • Finely chopped Coriander leaves

Instructions

Step 1: Heat up oil in a pan and add mustard seeds.

Step 2: When mustard seeds pop up add cumin seeds, hing, garlic and fry until garlic gets light golden color.

Step 3: When garlic begins to turn golden add curry leaves, onion and fry until onion gets light golden color.

Step 4: When onion begins to get light golden color add tomato and fry until tomato is cooked well.

Step 5: Add Sunday masala, red chilli powder and mix well.

Step 7: Add roasted peanut powder and mix well.

Step 8: Add capsicum and mix well.

Step 9: Add salt and mix well.

Step 10: Add water, cover and cook on medium heat for about 7-8 minutes.

Step 11: Turn off the gas and add coriander leaves.

Step 12: Mix well and dhobli mirchi masala is all ready.

Quick shimla mirchi masala

Notes

  • You can use kanda lasun masala or kala masala or any other masala that you use regularly in place of Sunday masala.
  • You can make dodakyachi bhaji or gawarichi bahji using the same method.
