Crispy Jawar Masala Puri

Jwarichi masala puri is a very easy and simple recipe. This turns out nice and crispy. It looks nice and taste simply awesome. This is not oily. So you can enjoy it without any worry. This is a very easy and simple recipe. Kids don’t like to have bhakri. Then in such cases you can make these puris for them. As these puris have good shelf life of about 8-15 days, it can be a good travelling snack too. This puri turns out nice and crispy. You can pack these puris for kids’ lunch box too. Ingredients

  • 5~6 Garlic cloves
  • 5~6 Green chilies
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Ajwain / Carom seeds
  • 1 tsp Kasuri methi (Optional)
  • 2 cups Jawar flour
  • 1/4 cup Beasn
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Red chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Finely chopped Coriander leaves
  • Water
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

Step 1: Blend garlic, green chilies, cumin seeds, ajwain, kasuri methi into coarse paste in mixer.

Step 2: Take jawar four in a dish and add besan, turmeric powder, red chili powder, salt, blended paste, coriander leaves.

Step 3: Mix everything well together and add a little water at a time to knead stiff dough.

Step 4: Take small portion from the dough and make it smooth and even.

Step 5: Roll puri form it. Do not use dry flour while rolling puri. If needed, you can use a little oil.

Step 7: Heat up oil on medium to high heat in a pan and drop puris in hot oil.

Step 8: Press the puri a little and when it is fried well from lower side, flip it over.

Step 9: When other side also gets light golden color take the puri out, drain excess oil and transfer it into a dish.

Step 10: When these puris cool down, store them in an air tight container. These have shelf life of about 8-15 days.

Step 11: You can make around 25 medium size puris form the proportion we have used.

Step 12: These can be a good travellig snack or kids’ lunch box option.Jawar Flour Puri

Notes

  • Adding kasuri methi is optional. You can sip it if you don’t want.
  • Avoid use of dry flour while rolling puri. If needed use a little oil.
  • If you use dry flour while rolling, the puri will be oily.
