Easy and Quick Egg Pulav

You don’t need to separately boil the egg or rice. You can cook it all in on pan. It looks nice and tastes just awesome. This is a very easy and simple recipe. You can try this recipe at home.

We already have seen anda biryani. But that is a multi step process. In this recipe you don’t have to boil eggs or cook rice separately. You can make in it just one pot and in a jiffy. This can be a good dinner option after long hectic day. You can add veggies of your choice or completely skip them. It doesn’t need too many fancy ingredients. Ingredients

  • 2 tsp Oil
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1 Star anise
  • 3~4 Cloves
  • 5~6 black Peppercorns
  • Cinnamon stick
  • 2~3 Green cardamom
  • 1~2 Bay leaves
  • Finely chopped Onion
  • Ginger-Garlic paste
  • Slit green chilies
  • Chopped Carrot
  • Chopped Green beans
  • Chopped Capsicum
  • 1 cup Rice
  • 1 1/2 cup water
  • Salt to taste
  • 4 Eggs
  • Black pepper powder
  • Red chili powder
  • A pinch of Salt
  • 1~2 tsp hot Water

Quick egg pulav

Instructions

Step 1: Heat up oil in a pan and add cumin seeds.

Step 2: When cumin seeds splutter add star anise, cloves, black peppercorns, cinnamon, green cardamom, bay leaves and fry it a little.

Step 3: Add onion and fry until it gets nice golden color.

Step 4: Add ginger-garlic paste, green chilies and fry well for about a minute.

Step 5: Add carrot, green beans, capsicum and fry for about a minute.

Step 6: Wash rice really good 2-3 times and soak in enough water for about 30 minutes.

Step 7: Drain all the water from the rice and add it into the pan.

Step 8: Mix well and add water, salt.

Step 9: Mix well and bring it to boil on high heat.

Step 10: Reduce the heat to medium and cook it covered for exactly 5 minutes.

Step 11: Remove the lid and make grooves with the help of a katori.

Step 12: Break the eggs in those grooves carefully and sprinkle black pepper powder, red chili powder, salt on the eggs.

Step 13: Add hot water along the edge of the pan.

Step 14: Cover and cook pulav on very low heat for about 10 minutes.

Step 15: Turn off the gas and egg pulav is all ready.

Notes

  • Adding veggies is optional. You can skip it if you don’t want.
  • You can also add veggies of your choice.
  • You can add spices of your choice on the eggs.
  • You can have this pulav as it is or with some raita.
  • If you like half fried eggs then reduce the cooking time a little.
