Lot many times during fasting it so happens that we get bored of having the same sabudana khichadi or varaicha bhat or batata bhaji. If you have soaked sabudana for making khichadi then you can use it for making thalipeeth. During Navaratri if you are fasting for 9 days then this will be savior for you. Easy, simple yet testy recipe. It can be evening dinner or lunch box option during fast.

Ingredients

  • 2~3 Green chilies
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds (Optional)
  • 1” Ginger
  • Coriander leaves (Optionl)
  • 1 cup soaked Sabudana
  • Boiled and peeded Potato
  • 2 tsp roasted Peanut powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Chili flakes (Optional)
  • 2~3 tsp Water
  • Oil / Ghee

Instructions

Step 1: For making basic masala or vatan ake green chilies, cumin seeds, ginger in a blender jar and blend it.

Step 2: Add coriander leaves and blend it into paste. Vatan or masala is ready.

Step 3: Take soaked sabudana and add mashed potato, vatan, roasted peanut powder, salt, chili flakes.

Step 4: Mix everything well together and knead it like dough.

Step 5: Add water and mix well.

Step 6: Don’t knead it too much, just enough so that good binding.

Step 7: It should come together like dough.

Step 8: Roll small balls from the dough.

Step 9: Spread ghee on the skillet and put a dough ball on it.

Step 10: Wet your hand with water and pat the dough to make thalipeeth.

Step 11: Transfer the skillet on the gas and turn on the gas.

Step 12: cover the thalipeeth with a lid and roast on medium heat for about 4-5 minutes first.

Step 13: Remove the lid and roast until lower side is roasted well.

Step 14: When lower side is roasted well, flip thalipeeth over and roast well from other side too.

Step 15: When thalipeeth is roasted well from both sides take it off into a dish.

Step 16: Sabudana thalipeeth is all ready.

Step 17: You can serve it as it is or with curd or upwas limbu lonache.

Step 18: You can make 3 medium size thalipeeth from that proportion.

Notes

  • Adding cumin seeds and coriander leaves is optional. You can skip it if you don’t want.
  • Adding chili flakes is optional. You can skip it if you don’t want.
