Easy Bread Recipe Without Yeast

Bread without yeast!! Surprised, aren’t you? Yes, today we are making bread for which we are not using yeast. You don’t need oven to bake the bread as we are making it on the skillet. It looks nice and it gets nice color. It turns out nice, soft and spongy. It gets perfect texture that bakery bought bread has!! This is a very easy and simple recipe. It is a real quick recipe too. We also don’t need baking powder or baking soda!! You can try this recipe at home.

While making bread yeast is an important ingredient. But yeast is not available everywhere. Yeast can be replaced with baking powder and baking soda. But at some places baking powder is not available. So here we are using Eno fruit salt that is easily available. Don’t worry, your bread will turn out nice and I do hope you will enjoy it!!

Bread without yeast as the name suggests there is no yeast used in this recipe. More over we are making this bread on skillet as microwave is not available at every household. We are using Eno fruit salt in this recipe that is easily available.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Maida
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp powdered Sugar
  • 1 tsp Eno fruit salt
  • 1/2 cup Curd
  • 1 tsp Oil
  • 3/4 cup Milk
  • Butter

Instructions

Step 1: Sieve maida in a dish and add salt, powdered sugar, Eno fruit salt.

Step 2: Mix everything well together and add curd.

Step 3: Mix well and add oil.

Step 4: Add a little milk at a time and knead soft dough.

Step 5: Add a little oil and knead again.

Step 6: Grease the base of a pan with butter and spread the dough evenly in the pan.

Step 7: Cover the pan and bake the bread on lowest possible heat.

Step 8: Bake one side for about 15-20 minutes.

Step 9: After about 20 minutes of baking remove the lid and flip the pan over into a dish.

Step 10: Again grease the pan with a little butter and transfer the bread into it.

Step 11: Unbaked side should be lower side.

Step 12: Cover the pan and bake the bread for about 15 minutes.

Step 13: When the bread is baked from both sides, transfer the bread on a cooling rack.

Step 14: Spread a little butter on upper side and cover the bread with a napkin.

Step 15: After about 15 minutes remove the napkin and take the bread out.

Step 16: Bread is all ready.

Notes

  • Do not use lot of butter for greasing the skillet or the bread will be soggy.
  • If you are baking it on gas then place a jali on the gas and the bread pan on it for baking.

This bread turns out perfectly like the bakery bought bread. It gets nice color and turns out soft and spongy. It is made on a skillet and is a very easy recipe.
