This is a an old traditional Marathi recipe. It can be a good alternative to besan ladoo. These are similar to damtiche ladoo. the only difference is while making damtiche ladoo the besan puri is deep fried and for bhakricha ldoo, we are roasting the bhakri or puri. Isn’t is healthier? Ingredients

  • 2 cups Besan
  • 4~5 tbsp Ghee
  • Milk as needed
  • 4~5 tsp Ghee
  • Chopped Cashew nuts
  • Chopped Almonds
  • 1 tbsp Ghee
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • Few Saffron strands
  • Cardamom powder
  • Sliced Pistachios
  • Dry Rose petals

How to make bhakricha ladoo

Instructions

Step 1: In a bowl take besan and ghee and mix it really good until the mixture turns crumbly.

Step 2: Add a little milk at a time and knead stiff dough.

Step 3: Make small balls from the mixture and roll out small puri from it.

Step 4: Heat up a skillet and spread ghee.

Step 5: Transfer the puri on it and roast it well from both sides

Step 6: Spread ghee on both sides while roasting.

Step 7: Transfer the puri on a wire rack and let it cool down.

Step 8: Break the puri into small pieces and blend it into coarse powder.

Step 9: Heat up ghee in a pan and sieve the blended mixture into it.

Step 10: Add dry nuts and roast the mixture well for about 4-5 minutes.

Step 11: In another pan heat up ghee and add water and sugar.

Step 12: Add saffron and mix well.

Step 13: Cook until the single thread consistency syrup is ready.

Step 14: When the mixture turns a little sticky, turn off the gas and syrup is ready.

Step 15: Pour the syrup into the roasted mixture and mix well.

Step 16: Cover and rest the mixture for about 10-15 minutes.

Step 17: Add cardamom powder and mix well.

Step 18: Roll ladoos from it and garnish with pistachios and rose petals. Bhakriche ladoo are ready.

Notes

  • We need stiff dough and nit a soft one.
  • Make sure to make single thread consistency syrup. Do not overcook it.
