They used to place charcoals on the top of the pot so that bhanole could get equal heat from all sides. But today we will bake these in a pan with a twist and try to retain the taste and flavor of it.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup finely shredded Cabbage
  • 1 finely chopped Onion
  • 2 tbsp grated fresh Coconut
  • Finelly chopped Coriander leaves
  • 1 tsp Garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Green chili paste to taste
  • 1 tsp Red chili powder
  • Besan as needed
  • Oil as needed

How to make kobiche bhanole

Instructions

Step 1: Mix cabbage, onion, coconut, coriander leaves, garam masala, coriander powder, turmeric powder, salt, green chili paste and red chili powder well together with hand.

Step 2: Crush it a little so that moisture in the veggies will be released.

Step 3: Add besan and mix well. Avoid use of water.

Step 4: Add just enough besan so that the mixture will get good binding. The dough should have soft consistency.

Step 5: Heat up a pan on medium heat and spread oil on it.

Step 6: Take small portion of the dough and roll out thalipeeth from it in the pan itself. Bhanole are a little thick.

Step 7: Make them smooth and even as much as possible and smoothen out the edges with the help of a spoon.

Step 8: Cover and roast it well on medium heat for about 7-8 minutes.

Step 9: When lower side is roasted well, spread oil on upper side and flip over bhanole into a dish.

Step 10: Slide the bhanole into the pan again and cover it.

Step 11: Roast the bhanole well from lower side too.

Step 12: When the bhanole are roasted well from both sides, take it off on a wire rack. Kobiche bhanole are ready.

Notes

  • Serve it with a chutney or a sauce or as it is.
  • You can pack it for kids’ lunch box.
