Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Masoor dal
  • 2 tbsp Moong dal
  • 2 tbsp Tur dal
  • Water as needed
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Oil
  • 1/4 cup grated dry Coconut
  • 2 tbsp white Sesame seeds
  • 1 tbsp Poppy seeds
  • 10~12 Garlic cloves
  • 3 tbsp Oil
  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
  • Curry leaves
  • 1 tsp Kitchen king masala
  • 1 tsp Sambar masala
  • 2 tsp Red chili powder
  • 2 tsp Kanda lasun masala
  • 2 tsp Sunday masala
  • Hot Water as needed
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp Maggie masala
  • 1/2 tsp Chat masala
  • 2 tsp Ghee
  • Finely chopped Coriander leaves

Solapur amti

Instructions

Step 1: Wash masoor dal, moong dal and tur dal well together 2-3 times and transfer it into a cooker.

Step 2: Add water, turmeric powder, oil and cook it on medium heat until 3 whistles in cooker.

Step 3: Beat the cooked dal really good and add water. Mix well.

Step 4: Heat up a pan on medium heat and add coconut.

Step 5: Fry well until coconut gets nice golden color.

Step 6: Add white sesame seeds, poppy seeds and roast it well for about a minute.

Step 7: Add garlic and fry together for about a minute.

Step 8: When the mixture cools down and blend it into fine paste in mixer.

Step 9: Heat up oil in a pan and add oil.

Step 10: Add mustard seeds and let them pop up.

Step 11: Add cumin seeds, curry leaves, the blended paste and fry well.

Step 12: Add kitchen king masala, sambar masala, red chili powder, kanda lasun masala, Sunday masala and fry it well together for about a minute.

Step 13: Add the cooked dal and mix well.

Step 14: Add hot water, salt and mix well.

Step 15: Simmer the amti well on medium heat and add Maggie masala chat masala and ghee and mix well.

Step 16: Simmer the amti well and add coriander leaves.

Step 17: Mix well and bajar amti is ready.

Notes

  • You can add a little water while blending if needed.
  • You can use kala masala in place of Sunday masala.
