Ingredients

  • 100 gram light Green chilies
  • Salt
  • 2 Lemons’ juice
  • 1 tsp Oil
  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Fenugreek seeds
  • 1 tsp Hing
  • 1 tsp white Sesame seeds
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder

Limbu mirchi lonche in Marathi

Instructions

Step 1: Wash and dry chilies well. Remove the stalk and make a vertical slit at the center of each chili.

Step 2: Rub salt inside each chili and keep it aside.

Step 3: Squeeze out juice from lemons.

Step 4: Heat up oil in a pan and add mustard seeds.

Step 5: When mustard seeds pop up add cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds, hing, sesame seeds and chilies. Mix well.

Step 6: Cover and steam the chilies well until they turn soft for about 3-4 minutes.

Step 7: Open the lid and mix well once.

Step 8: Add turmeric powder and mix well. Add lemon juice and mix well.

Step 9: Cover and steam it for about 5 minutes.

Step 10: Turn off the gas and limbu mirchi lonche is ready.

Step 11: You can store it in a glass jar when it cools down completely.

Notes

  • It has shelf life of about 15 days at room temperature for about 15 days and in freeze over a month.
  • You can pack it while travelling too.
