Ingredients

  • 50 gm Butter
  • 2 tsp Oil
  • 250 gm / 2 cups finely chopped Onion
  • 200 gm / 1 1/2 cup finely chopped Tomato
  • 1 tbsp Ginger-Garlic paste
  • 10 gm / 4 tsp Pav bhaji masala
  • 10 gm / 4 tsp Red chili powder
  • 1 tsp Beasn
  • 4 / 250 gm peeled and chopped Potatoes
  • 3 / 125 gm finely chopped Capsicum
  • 125 gm Cauliflower florets
  • 125 gm fresh Peas
  • 100 gm grated Beet
  • 5 gm Salt to taste
  • Water
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 tsp Butter (Optional)

Pav bhaji for 10 people

Instructions

Step 1: Heat up cooker on medium heat and add butter. 

Step 2: Add oil, onion and fry until onion gets nice golden color.

Step 3: Add tomato and fry for about 6-8 minutes.

Step 4: Add ginger-garlic paste and mix well.

Step 5: Add pav bhaji masala, red chili powder and mix well.

Step 6: Move the masala along the edge of the pan and add besan in the remaining space.

Step 7: Fry besan and mix it well with the masala.

Step 8: Add potato, capsicum, cauliflower, fresh peas, beet and mix everything well together.

Step 9: Add salt and mix well.

Step 10: Add water and mix well.

Step 11: Close the lid and steam the bhaji on low to medium heat for 25 minutes.

Step 12: Open the lid and mash the bhaji well with masher.

Step 13: Turn on the gas and add water to adjust the consistency.

Step 14: Mix well and add butter.

Step 15: Mix well and bring it to boil. Pav bhaji is ready.

Notes

  • You can skip besan if you don’t want.
  • You can cook pav bhaji on medium heat 2 whistles.
  • Adding butter is optional. You can skip it if you don’t want.
