Easy Kachhi Chicken Biryani

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Curd
  • 2 tsp Red chili powder
  • Finely chopped Coriander leaves
  • 1 Cinnamon stick
  • 5~6 Cloves
  • 4~5 Peppercorns
  • 2~3 slit Green chilies
  • 1 tsp Ginger-Garlic paste
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin powder
  • 1 tsp Biryani masala
  • Salt to taste
  • Mint leaves
  • 500 gm Chicken
  • 500 gm whole Basamati rice
  • Water
  • 2 Bay leaves
  • 1 Cinnamon stick
  • 2 green Cardamom
  • 4~5 Cloves
  • 4~5 Peppercorns
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp Ghee
  • 1~2 tsp Oil
  • 2~3 Ghee
  • 1 tsp Biryani masala
  • Saffron water
  • Mint leaves
  • Finely chopped Coriander leaves

Instructions

Step 1: In a bowl take curd, red chili powder, coriander leaves, cinnamon, cloves, peppercorns, green chilies, ginger-garlic paste, coriander powder, cumin powder, biryani masala, salt, mint leaves and mix everything well together.

Step 2: Wash chicken really good and transfer it into the bowl. Mix well.

Step 3: Cover and transfer it into freeze to marinate preferably overnight.

Step 4: Take the chicken out of freeze at least 1 hour before making biryani.

Step 5: Wash rice really good with water and soak it in enough water for at least 30 minutes.

Step 6: Drain all the water from soaked rice and keep it aside.

Step 7: Heat up water in a pan and add bay leaves, cinnamon, green cardamom, cloves, peppercorns, salt, ghee.

Step 8: When water begins to boil, add soaked rice and cook for just 5 minutes.

Step 9: Take a pan and add oil, marinated chicken.

Step 10: Transfer rice from boiling pan directly on chicken and spread it evenly.

Step 11: Add ghee, biryani masala, saffron water, mint leaves, coriander leaves.

Step 12: Cover and cook in low to medium heat for 45 minutes.

Step 13: Turn off the gas and let the biryani be in the pan for another 5 minutes.

Step 14: Open the lid and check. Chicken biryani is all ready.

Notes

  • Marinate the chicken at least 3-4 hours.
  • You can serve the biryani with some raita.
