Thalipeeth bhajani is a healthy and staple food in Maharashtrian houses. It is traditional Maharashtiran recipe. There will be hardly any Maharashtrian person who doesn’t know or like thalipeeth. It is made by roasting few pulses and cereals with some spiced and ground coarse. This is a healthy recipe too. We are celebrating year 2023 as millet year. So this is a millet recipe. You can find many versions of this recipe. Everybody has his or her own proportions of ingredients while making the bhajani. I will show you my version. Let me know how you like it. Ingredients

  • 1 cup / 150 gm Bajri
  • 1 cup / 200 gm Rice
  • 1 cup / 150 gm Jwari
  • 1/2 cup / 100 gm Chana dal
  • 1/2 cup / 100 gm Moong dal
  • 1/4 cup / 35 gm Urad dal
  • 1/2 cup / 100 gm green Moong
  • 1/4 cup / 20 gm Coriander seeds

Thalipeethachi bhajani

Instructions

Step 1: Heat up a pan pan on medium heat and add bajri, rice, jwari, chana dal, moong dal, urad dal, geeen moong, coriander seeds.

Step 2: Roast everything well together on medium heat for about 10-15 minutes

Step 3: Make sure you stir continuously while roasting.

Step 4: When the mixture begins to release nice aroma, turn off the gas.

Step 5: Let it cool down completely and grind it from meal. Thalipeethachi bhajani is all ready

Step 6: The bhajani flour should have a little coarse texture. Make sure you don’t grind it into fine powder.

Notes

  • You can skip rice if you don’t want.
  • You can add wheat if you want.
  • You can wash all the ingredients well and dry them before roasting.
  • It has a good shelf life of about 4-5 months.
