Ingredients

  • 7~8 Garlic cloves
  • 4~5 chopped Green chilies
  • 1/4 tsp Ajwain / Carom seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
  • A little Salt
  • 1/2 cup Poha
  • Thalipeeth bhajai flour
  • Coriander powder
  • Red chili powder
  • Turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Finely chopped Onion
  • Finely chopped Spinach
  • Water
  • Oil
  • White Sesame seeds

BHajaniche thalipeeth recipe

Instructions

Step 1: Pound garlic, green chilies, ajwain, cumin seeds and salt into coarse paste in mortar and pestle. Thecha is ready.

Step 2: Wash poha really good and soak them in enough water for about 5-7 minutes.

Step 3: Mash soaked poha with hands and add bhajani flour, coriander powder, red chili powder, turmeric powder, thecha, salt, onion, spinach.

Step 4: Mix everything well together and add a little water at a time to knead semi soft dough.

Step 5: Spread oil on a pan and sprinkle sesame seeds on it.

Step 6: Place a small dough ball on the pan and pat thalipeeth from it.

Step 7: Make a hole at the center and add oil in it.

Step 8: Turn on the gas on medium heat.

Step 9: Cover and roast the thalipeeth on medium heat really good.

Step 10: When lower side is roasted well, remove the lid and flip the thalipeeth over.

Step 11: When thalipeeth is roasted well from other side too take it off on a wire rack. Thalipeeth is all ready.

Notes

  • You can blend thecha in mixer too.
  • If needed dip your hand in water and pat the thalipeeth.
  • You can serve it with curd or homemade butter.
  • You can also serve it with any pickle or chutney or thecha or you can have it as it is.
