Ingredients

For Chicken

  • 250 gm boneless Chicken
  • 1 tsp Ginger-Garlic paste
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 1/2 tsp Red chili powder
  • Lemon juice
  • 1 Egg white
  • 2~3 tsp Corn flour
  • 2~3 tsp Maida
  • Oil for frying

For Sauce

  • 1 tsp Oil
  • Finely chopped Ginger
  • Finely chopped Garlic
  • Onion chopped into cubes
  • Capsicum chopped into cubes
  • 1 tsp Soya sauce
  • 1 tsp Chili sauce
  • 1 tsp Tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp Corn flour
  • Water
  • Chopped Green chilies
  • Chopped Spring onion

Crispy chili chicken

Instructions

For Chicken

Step 1: Cut chicken into stripes and add ginger-garlic paste, black pepper powder, salt, re chili powder, lemon juice.

Step 2: Mix everything well together and break egg. Use only egg white and skip yolk.

Step 3: Add corn flour, maida and mix well.

Step 4: Heat up oil in a pan and drop chicken pieces into hot oil.

Step 5: Fry chicken well on medium to high heat for about 3-4 minutes.

Step 6: Take the chicken out, drain excess oil and transfer it in a dish.

For Sauce:

Step 7: Heat up oil on high heat in a pan. Add ginger, garlic and fry for just 30 seconds.

Step 8: Add onion, capsicum and fry for just about a minute.

Step 9: Turn the gas to low heat and add soya sauce, chili sauce, tomato sauce and mix well.

Step 10: Take corn four in a bowl and add water to make slurry.

Step 11: Add the slurry into the sauce, a little water and mix well.

Step 12: Add green chilies and mix well.

Step 13: Add fried chicken into the sauce and toss it well.

Step 14: Garnish with spring onion and chili chicken is all ready.

Notes

  • You can cut chicken into square pieces if you want.
  • You can use vinegar in place of lemon juice.
  • Fry chicken on medium to high heat for just about 3-4 minutes. 
  • The sauces contain salt and so the fried chicken. SO I haven't added any extra salt. You can add salt according to your taste if you want.
  • Veggies should not be fried longer. They should retain the crisp.
  • Serve it hot as it is so that the crisp of the chicken will be retained.
  • You can keep the fried chicken ready. It will remain crispy for about an hour.
  • But when you add it into sauce, serve immediately.
