Missi roti is Indian flat bread. It is made from wheat flour, gram four and few spices. This is a very good breakfast dish. This is a traditional Punjabi recipe. Do not forget to like, comment, share and subscribe.
Ingredients
- 1 cup Whole wheat flour
- 1/2 cup Besan / Gram flour
- Finely chopped Green chillies
- Salt to taste
- 1/4 tsp Ajwain / Carom seeds
- 1 tsp Kasuri methi
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
- 2 tbsp Finely chopped Onion
- Finely chopped Coriander leaves
- 1 tsp Oil
- Butter / Ghee
Instructions
- In a dish take wheat flour and gram flour.
- Add green chili, salt, ajwain, kasuri methi, turmeric powder, onion and coriander leaves. Mix well.
- Add oil and mix well again.
- Add a little water at a time and knead dough. The consistency off the dough should be semi thick.
- When the dough is ready, coat it with a little oil.
- Transfer the dough into a bowl. Cover and give it a resting time of 10-15 minutes.
- Take a small ball of dough from kneaded dough.
- Dust some dry wheat flour in the dough ball.
- Roll the roti of about 5-6” round in size.
- Heat up pan on medium heat.
- Transfer the roti on the hot pan.
- When the roti is partly cooked, flip it over.
- Apply some butter on the roti. You can use oil or ghee too.
- After a minute flip over again and apply butter o other side too.
- Press the edges of roti with spatula so as to roast it well from all sides.
- Roast until nice brown spots appear on both sides.
- Take the roti in a serving dish. Missi roti is already.
- You can serve missi roti with any curry.
- It also goes well with any pickle or chutney.
