Ingredients

  • 1 tsp Oil
  • 4 sliced Onions
  • 2 medium size chopped Tomatoes
  • 7~8 Cashew nuts
  • 1 tbsp Butter
  • 1 tsp Ginger-Garlic paste
  • 1 tsp Garam masala
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • Red chili powder
  • Hot Water
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp Fresh cream
  • Grated Paneer

Instructions

Step 1: Heat up oil on medium heat in a pan and add onions.

Step 2: Fry onion well until it gets light golden color.

Step 3: Add tomato, cashew nuts and fry well for about 5-7 minutes until tomato is cooked well.

Step 4: Turn off the gas and let the mixture cool down a little.

Step 5: Transfer the mixture into a blender jar and blend into smooth paste without using any water.

Step 6: Heat up a pan on medium heat and add butter.

Step 7: When butter melts add ginger-garlic paste and fry well.

Step 8: Add the blended masala and fry well for about 5-6 minutes.

Step 9: Add garam masala, coriander powder, red chili powder and mix well.

Step 10: Add sugar and fry everything well together for about 3-4 minutes.

Step 11: When masala begins to release oil add hot water and mix well.

Step 12: Add salt and mix well. Simmer the gravy well for about 6-8 minutes.

Step 13: Add fresh cream and mix well.

Step 14: Add grated paneer and paneer cubes and mix well.

Step 15: Cook the gravy for just 3-4 minutes.

Notes

  • Use a little water if needed while blending the masala. Avoid using water as far as possible.
  • You can use oil in place of butter.
  • You can use kitchen king masala in place of garam masala.
  • Adding sugar helps to balance the sourness of tomato.
  • Adding fresh cream is optional. You can skip it if you don’t want.
  • Or you can beat the malai well which is available with you and use it in place of fresh cream.
  • You can fry the paneer before adding if you want.
  • You can Serve it with naan or paratha.
  • It goes well as side dish with jeera rice too.
