Coconut Malai Burfi

Coconut burfi or naralachi vadi is a well known recipe and all time favorite too. Today we are giving it a twist by adding paneer. Coconut burfi is generally made on the occasion of “Rakshabandhan” in Maharashtra.

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp Govind Ghee
  • 2 cup Grated fresh Coconut
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 240 gm Govind malai Paneer
  • Almond slices
  • Chopped Pistachios
  • Govind Ghee

Instructions

Step 1: Heat up a pan on medium heat and add Govind ghee, fresh coconut.

Step 2: Grate the fresh coconut and spread it in a dish for an hour.

Step 3: Mix well and fry for about 4-5 minutes. The color of the coconut should not change.

Step 4: Add sugar and fry it for another 7-8 minutes.

Step 5: Take Govind malai paneer in a bowl and mash it well.

Step 6: Add the paneer into the coconut sugar mixture and mix well.

Step 7: Cook everything well together for another 6-7 minutes.

Step 8: Grease a dish or tray well with Govind ghee and transfer the mixture into it.

Step 9: Spread it evenly and spread dry nuts and press it well.

Step 10: Let the mixture cool down completely and set well.

Step 11: Cut into burfi in the shape and size you want.

Step 12:You can store coconut malai burfi in an air tight container for about 2-3 days at room temperature and in freeze for about a week.

Notes

  • Keeping grated fresh coconut for about an hour helps to reduce the moisture content in it and cooking time also will be reduced.
