Aloo matar is a very simple and easy recipe. This is all time favourite and frequently tried recipe. We are making a little variation in this recipe today to make it tastier. Ingredients

  • 2 medium Potatoes
  • 1 Large finely chopped Onion
  • 1 Tomato diced
  • 1/2 cup Frozen peas
  • 1/4 cup Fresh shredded Coconut
  • 1 tbsp Red chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp Ginger-Garlic paste
  • 1 tsp Garam masala
  • 1 Sachet Maggie Masala-e-Magic
  • 2 tbsp Oil

Instructions

  • Take potatoes, peel and cut into small pieces.
  • Heat up oil in a pan.
  • Add onion and mix well.
  • Fry for about 4-5 minutes until onion turns light golden.
  • When onion begins to turn light golden add tomato, ginger garlic paste, garam masala, red chili powder and mix well.
  • Cook for 4-5 minutes until tomato turns nice and soft.
  • Add fresh coconut and mix well.
  • Add potatoes, salt and mix well.
  • Add a little water and mix well.
  • Cover and cook for about 8-10 minutes.
  • When potatoes are almost cooked add green peas and mix well.
  • If you are using fresh peas the add peas with potatoes only so that these will be nicely cooked.
  • Cover and cook for 2 more minutes.
  • Add a sachet of Maggie masala-e-magic and mix well.
  • Cook for 2 minutes more.
  • Aloo matar masala is already.
  • Aloo matar masala goes well with poori, chapatti, fulka, naan, roti.
  • It goes well with rice too.
