Ingredients

  • 1 Beetroot
  • 1 Potato
  • 4~5 tbsp Poha
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped Capsicum
  • 1 tbsp Coriander powder
  • 1/2 tbsp Red chili powder
  • 1/2 tbsp Cumin powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Garlic-Green chili paste (3~4 garlic cloves and 1~2 green chilies blended coarse)
  • Finely chopped Coriander leaves
  • Coarse Rava
  • Oil for shallow frying

Instructions

  • Peel and chop beet into pieces.
  • Peel and chop potato into pieces.
  • Transfer beet and potato into a pot and add a little water.
  • Transfer the pot into a cooker, close the lid and cook on medium heat until 2 whistles.
  • Do not cook completely. Beet and potato should be just about 60-70% cooked.
  • Take the pot out and let it cool down a little.
  • Grate the beet and potato.
  • Blend poha in blender and add it in grated beet.
  • Add capsicum, coriander powder, red chili powder, cumin powder, salt to taste, garlic-green chili paste, coriander leaves and mix everything well together.
  • You can add garlic-green chili paste according to your taste.
  • Make small cutlets from it. Make even and flatten them.
  • Roll the cutlets in coarse rava well from all sides.
  • Heat up oil for shallow frying.
  • You can deep fry the cutlets if you want.
  • Transfer the cutlets on the pan.
  • Shallow fry on medium heat for about 3-4 minutes from one side or these get nice golden color.
  • Flip over and fry form other side for another 3-4 minutes.
  • Take the cutlets off into a plate. Beetroot cutlets are already.
  • You can have these cutlets as it is or with green chutney too.
