Ingredients

  • 2 medium Potatoes
  • 1/2 tsp Red chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp Garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp Dry mango powder
  • Finely chopped Green chili
  • Finely chopped Coriander leaves
  • 1/2 tsp Black salt
  • 2 tbsp Thick Poha / Flattened rice
  • 2 tbsp Rice

Instructions

  • Boil the potatoes, peel and mash them.
  • Transfer the mashed potatoes into freeze for about 2 hours.
  • Transfer the rice, poha into a blender jar and blend it into a little coarse powder.
  • Add garam masala, red chili powder, dry mango powder, black salt, green chili, coriander leaves, salt in mashed aloo and mix everything well together.
  • Add a little poha & rice mixture at a time and knead it.
  • Continue to add rice & poha mixture until most of the moisture from potato is absorbed and nice and stiff dough is formed.
  • Take small ball of dough and roll it into a tikki.
  • Heat up oil in a pan.
  • Drop the tikkis into oil and fry on medium heat.
  • After frying from one side for about 5-6 minutes flip the tikki over and fry form other side as well for about 5-6 minutes more.
  • When tikkis are fried well from both sides, take them out, drain the excess oil and transfer into a plate.
  • Aloo tikkis are already.
  • You can make 6-7 nice size tikkis from 2 medium potatoes.
