Ingredients

For Dosa

  • 1 cup fine Rava / Suji
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/4 cup Curd
  • 1 cup + 2tbsp Water
  • 1/2 tsp Eno fruit salt
  • Oil

For Dosa Masala

  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  • Curry leaves
  • 1 pinch of Hing
  • 1 tsp Chana dal
  • 1/2 tsp Urad dal
  • 1 sliced Onion
  • 2~3 chopped Green chilies
  • 1 tsp grated Ginger
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 3~4 boiled and peeled Potatoes
  • Salt to taste
  • Finely chopped Coriander leaves

For Coconut Chutney

  • 2 tsp roasted Chana dal
  • 1/2 cup grated fresh Coconut
  • Chopped Green chili
  • 1” grated Ginger
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp Sugar
  • Water
  • 1 tsp Oil
  • 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
  • A pinch of Hing
  • 2 dry Red chilies
  • Curry leavesSuji dosa

 

Instructions

For Dosa

Step 1: Take rava in a bowl and add salt, dahi. Mix everything well together.

Step 2: Add water and mix well.

Step 3: Cover and rest the batter for about 30 minutes.

Step 4: Add Eno fruit salt and mix in quickly.

Step 5: Beat the cooked dal really good.

Step 7: Heat up a pan on medium heat and grease it well with oil.

Step 8: Add a ladleful batter at the center of the pan and spread it evenly carefully.

Step 9: When lower side gets nice golden color, brush a little oil on the upper side.

Step 10: Roll the dosa and take it off into a dish.

For Dosa Masala

Step 11: Heat up oil in a pan and add mustard seeds.

Step 12: When mustard seeds pop up add cumin seeds, curry leaves, curry leaves, hing, chana dal, urda dal and fry for about 30-40 seconds.

Step 13: Add onion, green chilies and fry well for about 3-4 minutes until onion turns soft.

Step 14: After frying onion for about 2-3 minutes add ginger and fry for another 3-4 minutes.

Step 15: Add turmeric powder and mix well.

Step 16: Add chopped potato and mix well.

Step 17: Add salt and mash the sabzi a little.

Step 18: Cook and steam for about 5 minutes. Add coriander leaves and mix well. Dosa masala is all ready.

For Coconut Chutney

Step 19: Take roasted chana dal, fresh coconut, green chili, ginger in a blender jar and blend well.

Step 20: Add salt, sugar, water and blend again. Transfer the chutney into a bowl.

Step 21: For tadka heat up oil in a tadka pan and add mustard seeds.

Step 22: When mustard seeds pop up add cumin seeds, hing, dry red chilies, curry leaves and mix well.

Notes

  • You can blend coarse suji in mixer and use it in place of fine suji.
  • You can use lemon juice or buttermilk in place of curd.
  • You can use 1/4 tsp baking soda in place of Eno fruit salt.
