Konkan special Stuffed Rice Rolls

Stuffed rice rolls and curd is a traditional, healthy Konkan special breakfast recipe. Rice rolls means olya fenya or sal papdya which we dry and fry later. We have given twist to these to make these rice noodles. These are stuffed rolls and taste just awesome. This is a different recipe that looks fantastic. We have reduced the processing time of making rice rolls. You can try this recipe at home.

Traditional recipe need to soak the rice for 3 days, then dry it. The flour for making rice rolls is made using these rice. Actually this is a time consuming process. Today in the recipe we have reduced the time and made instant rolls. This is a very easy and simple recipe. This can be a perfect breakfast option. It is healthy and testy too.

Ingredients

For Batter

  • 1 cup Rice flour
  • 1/4 cup Corn flour
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 cups + 2 tsp Water

For Stuffing

  • Oil
  • Finely chopped Ginger
  • Finely chopped Garlic
  • Finely chopped French beans
  • Finely chopped Carrot
  • Finely chopped Capsicum
  • Finely shredded Cabbage
  • 1 tsp Chili sauce
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp Chili sauce

For Sauce

  • 1 tsp Tomato sauce
  • 1/2 tsp Soya sauce
  • Water
  • White Sesame seeds

 

Instructions

For Batter

Step 1: Take rice flour, corn flour, salt in a bowl and mix well.

Step 2: Add water and mix well.

Step 3: Rest the batter for about 5 minutes.

For Stuffing

Step 4: For making stuffing, heat up oil in a pan.

Step 5: Add ginger, garlic and fry for about a minute.

Step 6: Add French beans, carrot, capsicum and fry everything together for about a minute.

Step 7: Add cabbage and mix well.

Step 8: Turn off the gas and add chilli sauce. Mix well.

Step 9: Add salt and mix well. Stuffing is ready.

For Sauce

Step 10: Heat up a pan on medium heat and add chili sauce, tomato sauce, soya sauce, water and mix well.

Step 11: Turn off the gas after adding all the sauces. Sauce for noodles is ready.

For Rice Rolls

Step 12: Mix the rice batter well once.

Step 13: Grease a tray or cooker pot or a thali well with oil.

Step 14: Pour out a ladleful batter into the tray and spread it well.

Step 15: Heat up water in the steamer and place a stand in it.

Step 16: Place a tray on the stand and close the lid.

Step 17: Steam the batter on medium heat for about 3-4 minutes.

Step 18: Open the lid and take the tray out and transfer it into a dish having cold water.

Step 19: After about a minute of cooling loosen the edges with a needle or knife.

Step 20: Fill the stuffing on the noodles in the tray.

Step 21: Lift the edge of the noodles and roll it carefully.

Step 22: Transfer the roll into a dish.

Step 23: Cut the noodles into pieces and spread the sauce that we made on it.

Step 24: Garnish with sesame seeds and rice noodles are all ready.

Notes

  • You can add soya sauce in the stuffing if you want.
