Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cup Rice flour
  • 2 medium size finely chopped Onions
  • Finely chopped Coriander leaves
  • 1/4 cup grated fresh Coconut
  • Finely chopped Green chili
  • 1 tsp grated Ginger
  • Salt to taste
  • Water
  • Oil

Konkani breakfast kande bhakri

Instructions

Step 1: Take rice flour in a bowl and add onion, coriander leaves, fresh coconut, green chili, ginger, salt.

Step 2: Mix everything well together and add a little water at a time and knead soft dough.

Step 3: Take small portion from the dough and transfer it on banana leaf.

Step 4: Pat it with hand to roll bhakari.

Step 5: Heat up a pan on medium heat and brush oil on it.

Step 6: Transfer the bhakari on the hot pan and remove the banana leaf carefully.

Step 7: Cover and roast the bhakari well on medium to high heat for about 3-4 minutes.

Step 8: Remove the lid and brush a little oil on upper side of the bhakari.

Step 9: Flip the bhakari over and roast well from other side too.

Step 10: Press it a little from all sides while roasting so that it will be roasted well.

Step 11: When the bhakari is roasted well from both sides take it off into a dish. Kande bhakri is all ready.

Notes

  • You can use cotton cloth or plastic sheet or aluminium foil or butter paper in place of banana leaf.
  • You can have this bhakari as it is.
  • It goes well with onion chutney or tomato chutney or olya khobaruachi chutney.
