Besan chill roll can also be known as veg Frankie without sabzi. It tastes just awesome and very easy to make. When you don’t have sabzi at home or got bored of making any sabzi and have chapattis ready then this is the best way out. You can try this recipe at home and drop a comment for me. Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Besan
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/4 tsp Ajwain / Carom seeds
  • 1/4 tsp Cumin seeds
  • Finely chopped Green chilies
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp Red chili powder
  • A little less that 1/2 cup Water
  • Finely chopped Tomato
  • Finely chopped Onion
  • 1 tbsp Mint leaves
  • 1 tbsp Sooji
  • Chapati Dough
  • Oil
  • Sliced Onion
  • Sliced Tomato
  • Mayonnaise
  • Chili sauce
  • Tomato sauce

Instructions

  • Take besan in a bowl.
  • Add turmeric powder, ajwain, cumin seeds, green chilies, salt red chili powder and mix everything well together.
  • Add water to make batter.
  • Add tomato, onion, mint leaves and mix well.
  • You can use any green vegetable in place of mint leaves like spinach, fenugreek or coriander leaves.
  • Rest the batter for about 5-10 minutes.
  • Add sooji and mix well. Sooji helps to make chila nice and crisp.
  • Take ball of dough for making roti and dip it in dry flour.
  • Roll a roti from it.
  • Heat up a pan on medium heat.
  • Transfer the rolled roti on it and roast well from both sides.
  • When one side is roasted well flip the roti over and spread a little oil on upper side.
  • Flip over and spread oil again on other side.
  • You can use butter in place of oil.
  • When roti is roasted well from both sides take it off into a dish.
  • In the same pan spread a little oil.
  • Mix the chila batter well once and transfer it on the pan.
  • Spread the batter well evenly.
  • When lower side is roasted well spread a little oil on it and flip over.
  • Roast well for about 3-4 minutes from other side.
  • When chila is roasted well from both sides take it off the pan and transfer it on the roti.
  • Spread onion, tomato, mayonnaise chili sauce, tomato sauce on it and roll the wrap.
  • Chila wrap is all ready.
  • You can use the green chutney or mint chutney or chili sauce in place of mayonnaise.
