Ingredients
- 1 tsp Oil
- Finely chopped Onion
- 1 tsp Ginger-Garlic paste
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
- 375 gm Chicken
- Water
- Salt to taste
- Oil
- 10~12 Garlic cloves
- 8~9 Green chilies
- 3~4 tsp shredded dry Coconut
- Coriander leaves
- Water
- Oil
- 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
- Finely chopped Onion
- 1/2 tsp Garam masala
- Salt
Instructions
- Heat up oil in a cooker.
- Add onion and fry until it gets nice golden color.
- Add ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder and mix well.
- Fry everything for just about a minute.
- Wash chicken well and add it.
- Mix well and add water, salt.
- Mix well and close the lid.
- Cook on medium heat until 2-3 whistles.
- Heat up oil in a pan.
- Add garlic cloves, green chilies.
- You can decide the quantity of green chilies depending on your taste.
- Give a little slit to green chilies before adding so that these won’t spill out.
- When it is fried well add dry coconut and fry until coconut gets nice golden color.
- Turn off the gas and let the mixture cool down a little.
- Transfer everything into a blender jar and add coriander leaves, water.
- Blend everything into paste.
- Heat up oil in a pan.
- Add cumin seeds and let it splutter.
- Add onion and fry until it gets nice golden color.
- Add garam masala and mix well.
- Do not add more masala. It should not change the color of the blended masala.
- Add the blended masala or kharda and fry for just about 2 minutes.
- Add salt keeping in mind the salt added while cooking the chicken and mix well.
- Add cooked chicken pieces.
- We are not using stock. You can have this stock as soup. It is also good for kids.
- If needed, you can add just about 1-2 tsp stock for taste.
- Mix everything well together.
- Cook for just about 4-5 minutes.
- Kharda chicken is all ready.
- It goes well with chapatti, with rice as side dish.
