Ingredients

  • 2 cups Thick poha
  • 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 10-12 Curry  leaves
  • Finely chopped Coriander leaves
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • A pinch of Hing
  • 2 tbsp Raw peanuts
  • 2 finely chopped Green chilies
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tsp Oil
  • Sugar (optional)

Instructions

  • Transfer the pohe into a strainer.
  • Wash pohe really good with water 2-3 times. Do not soak the pohe.
  • Cover and keep the pohe aside for about 5 minutes.
  • Add turmeric powder, salt, sugar (optional). You can skip sugar if you don’t like.
  • Mix everything well together.
  • Take some water in the steamer and bring it to boil.
  • When the water begins to boil put the strainer on it, cover and steam medium heat for about 7-8 minutes. Keep it aside.
  • Heat up oil in a pan.
  • Add peanuts and fry for about 2-3 minutes.
  • When peanuts begin to turn light brown, add mustard seeds and let it pop up.
  • Add cumin seeds and let it splutter.
  • Add green chilies, curry leaves, hing and mix well.
  • Fry for about 1-2 minutes on medium heat.
  • Take the steamed poha into a bowl.
  • Add tadka, coriander leaves and mix everything well together.
  • Steamed poha is already.
