Gajar ka raita is a such healthy and delicious dish which goes perfect with any spicy dish. You can also have this as dipping or spread while making rolls.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Yogurt
  • 1/4 tsp Chat Masala
  • 1/4 tsp finely chopped Green Chilli
  • 1/4 tsp Black salt / Kala namak
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Sugar
  • 1/2 cup fine shredded Carrot
  • 2 tbsp chopped Coriander Leaves
  • 1 tsp Oil
  • 1/4 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1/4 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 7 to 8 Curry Leaves
  • 1 slit Green Chilli

Instructions

  • Take yogurt in to a bowl.
  • Season that with chat masala, kala namak, salt, sugar, green chilli.
  • Mix well until yogurt turns smooth.
  • Now add carrot and coriander leaves and mix well.
  • Heat tsp of oil in to a pan.
  • Once oil is hot add mustard seeds, let them pop.
  • Add cumin seeds, curry leaves, green chilli.
  • Mix well.
  • Allow tempering to cool off a bit.
  • Then pour tempering over raita.
  • Serve raita with Chicken Biryani

Notes

  • You can also use roasted cumin powder in yogurt.
  • Substitute carrot with beet for even healthier raita!
