So here is crispy upwas masala dosa for you. It tastes just awesome and is very easy to make. We also are making batata bhaji along with it. You can try this recipe at home.

Ingredients

For Dosa

  • 1/2 cup Varai / Samo seeds
  • 1/4 cup Sabudana / Sago seeds
  • 1/4 cup Curd
  • 1/4 cup Water
  • Salt to taste
  • Ghee / Oil

For Potato Sabzi

  • 1 tsp Ghee
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
  • Ginger-Green chili paste
  • Boiled, peeled and chopped Potatoes
  • Roasted Peanut powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Finely chopped Coriander leaves (Optional)

Crispy Upwas Dosa

Instructions

For Dosa

Step 1: Wash varai and sabudana really good together 3-4 times with water and soak in enough water overnight or at least 5-6 hours.

Step 2: Drain all the water from it and transfer the soaked varai and sabudana into a blender jar.

Step 3: Blend without any water first and add curd, water.

Step 4: Blend again into smooth paste and transfer the batter into a bowl.

Step 5: Add salt and mix well.

Step 6: Rest the batter for about 10-15 minutes.

Step 7: Heat up a pan on medium heat and grease it with ghee or oil.

Step 8: Add ladleful batter at the center of the pan and spread it evenly.

Step 9: Cover and cook for about a minute.

Step 10: Remove the lid and roast until lower side gets nice golden color.

Step 11: When lower side gets nice golden color, add the potato sabzi and fold the dosa.

Step 12: Take the dosa off into a dish.

Step 13: Upwas masala dosa is all ready.

For Potato Sabzi

Step 1:Heat up ghee in a pan and add cumin seeds.

Step 2: When cumin seeds splatter add ginger-green chili paste and fry for about a minute.

Step 3: Add potato and mix well.

Step 4: Add roasted peanut powder, salt and mix well.

Step 5: Cover and cook for about 5-6 minutes.

Step 6: Remove the lid and mix well once.

Step 7: Turn off the gas and add coriander leaves.

Step 8: Potato sabzi is ready.

 

Notes

  • You can use 1/2 cup buttermilk or 1-2 tsp lemon juice in place of curd.
  • You can skip ginger if you don’t want.
  • You can use red chili powder in place of green chilies too.
  • Coriander leaves are optional. You can skip it if you don’t want.

Serve this crispy and crunchy dosa with potato sabzi. You can have this potato sabzi as it is too. You can replace the potato with pumpkin or yam. t tastes fantastic.
