Ingredients

  • 10~12 green chilies
  • 10~12 Garlic cloves
  • 2 tsp Oil
  • 1/4 tsp Hing
  • Curry leaves
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • Boiled mashed Potato
  • Salt to taste
  • Finely chopped Coriander
  • 1 cup Besan
  • 1/4 cup Rice flour
  • Salt to taste
  • A pinch of Baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp Red chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • Bread slices
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

Step 1: Take green chilies, garlic in a blender jar and blend everything into coarse paste. Thecha is ready.

Step 2: Heat up oil in a pan and hing, curry leaves, thecha and fry well.

Step 3: Turn off the gas and add turmeric powder and mix well.

Step 4: Add potato, salt, coriander and mix well.

Step 5: Remove the curry leaves and stuffing for bread pattice is ready.

Step 6: Take besan, rice flour, salt, baking soda, red chili powder, turmeric powder in a bowl and mix everything well together.

Step 7: Add a little water at a time to make a medium consistency batter.

Step 8: Add coriander and mix well. Batter is ready.

Step 9: Take bread slice and cut it into 2 rectangles.

Step 10: Spread potato stuffing and press it a little.

Step 11: Dip the bread into the batter and coat it well.

Step 12: Heat up a pan on medium heat and drop the patties into hot oil.

Step 13: When one side is fried well flip the patties over and fry well from other side too.

Step 14: When patties is fried well from both sides take it out, drain excess oil and transfer it into a dish.

Step 15: Bread patties is all ready.

 

Notes

  • Adding coriander in batter is optional. You can skip it if you don’t want.
  • You can have it as it is or with sweet tamarind chutney.
