Crispy and Chatpatit Suji Balls

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup fine Rava / Suji
  • 1/2 cup Besan
  • 1 tsp Rice flour
  • 1 1/4 cup Water
  • 1 tsp Mixed herbs
  • Chili flakes
  • Grated Garlic
  • Finely chopped Coriander leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • Grated Carrot (Optional)
  • Finely chopped Capsicum (Optional)
  • Oil for frying

Chatpatit suji balls

 

Instructions

Step 1: In a pan take add rava, besan and add rice flour.

Step 2: Mix well and add a little water at a time to make paste. No lumps of besan should be formed.

Step 3: Cook the mixture well on medium heat.

Step 4: Stir it continuously while cooking so that no lumps will be formed.

Step 5: When mixture comes together like dough, turn off the gas and add mixed herbs, chilli flakes, garlic, coriander leaves, salt.

Step 6: Mix everything well together.

Step 7: Add carrot, capsicum and mix well.

Step 8: Let the mixture cool down.

Step 9: Grease your hands well with oil and roll small balls from the mixture.

Step 10: Heat up oil on medium heat in a pan.

Step 11: Drop suji balls in hot oil and fry well.

Step 12: Avoid disturbing the suji balls until they float in oil.

Step 13: When suji balls get nice golden color from all sides take them out, drain excess oil and transfer into a dish.

Step 14: Suji balls are all ready.

Step 15: You can have them as is or with sauce or any dipping of your choice.

Easy rava balls

Notes

  • You can blend coarse rava in mixer and use it in place of fine rava.
  • You can use spices according to your choice.
  • You can use red chilli powder, coriander powder and garam masala in place of mixed herbs.
  • You can add 1/2 cup cheese if you want.
  • Adding veggies is optional. You can skip veggies if you don’t want.
  • Or you can add veggies according to your choice.

Suji balls or rava vade are very easy to make and taste nice. You can serve the as party starter or breakfast or evening snack too. Kids will love it. You can serve them as it is or with chutney or any dip of your choice.
