Hot and sour soup is a testy and quick recipe. As we are adding lot many veggies it is healthy too. This is a good appetizer or can be a good party starter. Kids will love it. For the kids you can make it a little less pungent by avoiding adding green chilies.

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp Oil
  • 1 tsp finely chopped Garlic
  • 1 tsp finely chopped Ginger
  • Chopped Mushroom
  • Chopped baby corn
  • Chopped Beans
  • Finely chopped Carrot
  • Finely chopped Cabbage
  • Finely chopped Green chilies
  • Water
  • Black pepper powder
  • 1 tsp Soya sauce
  • Chili sauce
  • 1 tsp Corn flour
  • Water
  • 1/2 Lemon juice
  • Salt to taste
  • Chopped Spring onion

Instructions

Step 1: Heat up oil in a pan and add garlic, ginger.

Step 2: Fry together for just 30-40 seconds.

Step 3: Add mushroom, baby corn, beans, carrot and fry everything together for about 4-5 minutes on medium heat.

Step 4: Add cabbage, green chilies and together for about a minute or two.

Step 5: Add water, black pepper powder, soya sauce, chilli sauce and simmer the mixture for about 4-5 minutes.

Step 6: Take corn flour in a bowl and add water to make slurry.

Step 7: Add the slurry to the mixture and mix well.

Step 8: Add lemon juice, salt, spring onion and mix well.

Step 9: Simmer the soup for another 4-5 minutes until you get the desired consistency.

Step 10: Turn off the gas and hot and sour soup is all ready.

Notes

  • Add those veggies first who take longer to cook.
  • You can add veggies of your choice.
  • You can skip green chilies if you don’t want.
  • If you want thicker soup then you can use more corn flour.
  • You can use vinegar in place of lemon juice.
