Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Moond dal
  • 2 tbsp Rice
  • 1 Green chili
  • 1 tbsp Rice flour
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped Onion
  • Finely chopped Coriander leaves
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  • In a bowl take moong dal and add rice.
  • Mix well and wash it 2-3 times really good with water.
  • Soak the dal and rice in enough water for about 2 hours.
  • Transfer the soaked dal and rice into a blender jar.
  • Add green chili and blend it into a little coarse paste.
  • The batter should not be runny.
  • If the batter is thin then you can add a little rice flour in it.
  • Add turmeric powder, cumin seeds, onion, salt to taste, coriander leaves and mix well.
  • Heat up oil on medium heat.
  • You can make bhaji with hand or use a spoon for the same.
  • Make small bhaji and not big ones.
  • Fry the pakoda for about 3-4 minutes from one side and flip them over.
  • Fry bhaji until these get a nice golden color from all sides.
  • Take them out of the pan, drain excess oil, and transfer them into a dish.
  • Moong dal pakoda is already.
  • You can have these with tamarind sweet chutney, tomato sauce, or green chutney.
  • You can have moong dal pakoda as it is.
