Solapur Special Mirchi Bhaji

Today we are making Solapur special mirachi bhaji or pakoda. With rainy season on pakoda recipe is must. We already have seen lot many pakoda recipes like kanda bhaji, batata bhaji, khekada bhaji, palak bhaji etc. This is a little different recipe. These pakodas get so nice coating of the batter that we can call these cake pakoda or sponge pakoda. Solapur special mirchi bhaji taste just awesome and are very easy to make. You can try this recipe at home.

Today we are making mirchi bhaji which turn out spongy and fluffy. Bhaji or pakoda is a popular street food. You can have it anytime of the day and every place has it own taste and flavor of these pakodas.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Besan
  • 1/4 tsp Ajwain / Carom seeds
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/4 tsp Baking soda
  • 1/4 cup Water
  • Green chilies
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

Step 1: In a bowl take besan, ajwain, salt, baking soda and mix everything well together.

Step 2: Add a little water at a time to make thick batter.

Step 3: Beat it really good until it turns nice and light for at least 5 minutes.

Step 4: Drop green chili in the batter and coat it well.

Step 5: Heat up oil on medium heat and drop batter coated chilies in it.

Step 6: Fry bhaji well on medium heat from both sides on medium heat.

Step 7: When bhaji change the color a little flip over and fry from other side too.

Step 8: When bhaji are fried well from both sides take them out, drain excess oil and transfer into a dish.

Step 9: Mirachi bhaji or bhaji are all ready.

Step 10: You can have these as it is or with chutney or sauce.

 

Notes

  • You can make around 12-13 mirachi bhaji from above proportion.

Servings

You can serve these mirchi bhaji as it is or it goes nice with green chutney or fired chili or sauce. Hot masala chai is the perfect companion of these pakoda. These can be a perfect evening snack.
