Ingredients

For Coating:

  • 2 cups Maida / All purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup Oil
  • 1 1/2 tsp Baking powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 cup Water

For Stuffing:

  • 250 gm Paneer chopped into small pieces
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • 1/4 cup Finely chopped Tomato
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped Onion
  • 1/4 cup Finely chopped Green pepper
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped Coriander leaves
  • 1 tsp Red chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1 tsp Garam masala
  • 1/4 tsp Chat masala
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

For Making Dough:

  • In a bowl take maida. Add baking powder, salt and mix well.
  • Add oil and mix well. Add a little water at a time to make the dough.
  • Add water and make a stiff dough. Cover and rest the dough for about 15-20 minutes.

For Stuffing:

  • Heat up oil in a pan. Add onion and green pepper.
  • Mix well and cook for just 3-4 minutes.
  • Add tomato, red chili powder, chat masala, coriander powder, garam masala, turmeric powder, and mix well.
  • Cook for another 2 minutes.
  • Turn off the gas and add paneer. Mix well.
  • You can use grated paneer too if you want.
  • Add salt and stir well.
  • Add coriander and mix everything well together.
  • Paneer stuffing is already.

For Making Paneer Pockets:

  • Take the dough and knead it again.
  • Take a little dough and make it even.
  • Roll the dough into a small disc.
  • It should be neither too thick nor too thin.
  • Take a pizza cutter and cut the edges and cut 2 same size rectangles.
  • Add stuffing on one of the rectangles and brush a little water to the edges of it.
  • Place another rectangle on it and seal the edges really good.
  • Or theses pockets may open up while frying.
  • Take a fork and make a design on the edges.
  • Heat up oil in a pan.
  • Drop a paneer pocket in it.
  • Deep fry the pockets on low to medium heat until it gets deep golden color from both sides.
  • Take the pockets out of oil, drain excess oil, and transfer these into a dish.
  • You can bake these pockets too.
  • For baking preheat the oven at 180 Deg C or approximately 350 Deg F.
  • Put the paneer pockets in the preheated oven for about 10-15 minutes.
  • After 10 minutes flip these over and bake form another side as well.
  • Paneer pockets are already.

Notes

  • No need to cook paneer as it will be cooked while frying packets.
