Crispy, Crunchy Masala Chips

Masala chips turn out nice, crispy and taste just awesome. These look nice and turn out just crunchy and crispy. Kids love to have something chatpatit all the time. So this can be the best option for them!! This is a very easy and simple recipe. We are making special masala for these chips to make them testier and to increase the shelf life. We are not using maida do these are healthy too. We already have seen rice flour chips. So in addition to that try these chips too.

Kids love eating something crispy and crunchy all the time. So instead of buying chips from the market why not give them something homemade and healthy!! These chips have good shelf life and taste nice. It will be a good tea time snack too!! This is a real quick and simple recipe. It doesn’t need lot many ingredients and can be made from very few ingredients those are easily available in your pantry!!

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup Besan
  • 1 cup Rice flour
  • Salt to taste
  • A pinch of Baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 cup Water
  • 2 tsp Byadgi mirchi pwder
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp Black salt
  • Oil for frying

Crunchy masala chips

Instructions

Step 1: In a bowl take besan and add rice flour, salt, baking soda, turmeric powder.

Step 2: Mix everything well together and keep the mixture aside.

Step 3: Heat up water in a pan and bring it to boil.

Step 4: When water begins to boil, turn off the gas and add the mixture.

Step 5: Mix in quickly and cover it.

Step 6: Rest the mixture for about 5-10 minutes.

Step 7: For making masala for chips take byadgi mirchi powder, cumin powder, garlic powder, black salt in a bowl and mix everything well together.

Step 8: Masala for coating the chips is ready.

Step 9: Transfer the mixture into a bowl and knead the dough well.

Step 10: Take a small portion for the dough and make it smooth and even.

Step 11: Place it on a butter paper and roll it as thin as possible.

Step 12: Cut chips into shape and size you want.

Step 13: Heat up oil in a pan and drop the chips in hot oil.

Step 14: Fry chips well on medium heat from both sides.

Step 15: When chips are fried well from both sides take them out, drain excess oil and transfer into a dish.

Step 16: Sprinkle the masala on the chips and toss well.

Step 17: You can store the chips in an airtight container when these cool down completely. They have shelf life of about 1-1 1/2 month.

Quick Masala chips

Notes

  • You can use food processor for this.
  • You can use plastic sheet in place of butter paper.
  • You can use dry rice flour for kneading if needed.
