Easy, Quick Motichoor Ladoo

Easy and quick motichoor ladoo is today’s recipe. Motichoor ladoo is one of favorite Diwali recipe. Making motichoor ladoo needs lot of efforts like frying boondi, making syrup and then ladoos. But today we are making ladoos without making boondi. These look perfectly like motichoor ladoo and taste the same. These turn out nice juicy and yummy. We are not frying boondi or making syrup for this motichoor ladoo. This is a very easy ans quick recipe. These ladoos look just like the motichoor ladoo and taste just awesome.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Chana dal
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 3/4 cup Water
  • Orange food color (Optional)
  • 4 tsp Ghee
  • Watermelon seeds / Magaj seeds
  • Cardamom powder
  • Pistachios slices

Instructions

Step 1: Wash chana dal really good 3-4 times and soak it in enough water for about 6 hours or overnight.

Step 2: Drain all the water from soaked chana dal and transfer it into a blender jar.

Step 3: Blend it coarse without using any water at all. Do not blend continuously.

Step 4: Give it pulses so that coarse texture is retained.

Step 5: Transfer the blended coarse mixture into a pot and cook it in cooker on medium heat until 2 whistles.

Step 6: Heat up a pan and add sugar, water.

Step 7: Mix well and bring the mixture to boil.

Step 8: Turn the gas on medium heat and cook the mixture for another 7-8 minutes.

Step 9: We need 2 thread consistency syrup.

Step 10: Take a drop of syrup in a dish. It should not spread.

Step 11: Check the consistency when the drop cools down a little.

Step 12: If it is enough thick enough add orange food color and mix well.

Step 13: Sugar syrup is ready.

Step 14: Take the cooked dal out of the cooker and let it cool down for at least 30 minutes.

Step 15: When dal cools down well loosen it with the help of fork.

Step 16: Heat up ghee in a pan and add cooked dal into it.

Step 17: Fry it well on medium heat for about 7-8 minutes and turn off the gas.

Step 18: Add the fried dal into hot sugar syrup and add magaj seeds, cardamom powder.

Step 19: Mix everything well together and turn off the gas.

Step 20: Cover and rest the mixture for about 30 minutes.

Step 21: Remove the lid and mix well once. Roll ladoos from the mixture of the size and shape you want and garnish with pistachios slices.

Step  22: Motichoor ladoos are all ready.

Step 23: You can make around 8-10 ladoos from the mixture.

Notes

  • You can skip the color if you don’t want. Adding food color is optional.
  • You can store these ladoos at room temperature for about 3-4 days and in freeze for about a week.
