Ingredients

  • 1 cup of warm water
  • 1 tsp dry yeast
  • 1/2 tsp Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 1/2 cups Maida
  • Butter
  • Garlic paste
  • Mixed herbs
  • Black pepper powder
  • Chili flakes

Instructions

  • In a cup take lukewarm water. Add dry yeast and sugar. Mix well.
  • Cover and give it a standing time of about 30 minutes.
  • Add olive oil, salt. Add a cup of maida at a time and stir well. No lumps of maida should be formed.
  • Again add a cup maida and mix well. After adding 2 cups maida, it comes together as a very soft dough. Add 2 cups flour in yeast water.
  • Dust the working surface with maida and start kneading dough. This is a very important step.
  • You must knead the dough for about 15-20 minutes by dusting maida at the intervals.
  • Knead it back and forth. After using 1/2 cup maida more, do not use any more maida for kneading.
  • Add 1 tsp olive at a time and knead it for more than 15 minutes.
  • The dough will be nice, smooth, and even.
  • Transfer the dough into a bowl. Cover and let it rest for an hour or until it doubles up in size.
  • Punch down the dough and take the dough out on a work surface.
  • Grease your hands with oil really good.
  • Divide the dough into 2 equal portions with the help of a knife.
  • Take a baking tray and line it up with aluminum foil.
  • Dust the tray with lots of maida over the foil.
  • If you have cornmeal, then add it at this point in time so that you don’t have to dust the tray with maida.
  • Take one ball of dough and roll it into a round shape by patting with hand. You can roll this using a rolling pin too.
  • Take another ball of dough and roll it in a similar way.
  • Cover with a clean napkin and let it rest for about 15-20 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven at 200 Deg C or approximately 400 Deg F for nearly about 18-20 minutes.
  • Spread some butter with lots of garlic on the bread.
  • Spread mixed herbs over the bread. Spread black pepper powder and chili flakes.
  • Flip the bread from one side and fold it into half.
  • Spread some garlic over the bread again. Spread mixed herbs, black pepper, and chili flakes.
  • Just give the dough shape of garlic bread with the help of a knife. Don’t need to cut it through.
  • Brush lots of butter on the bread.
  • Bake the bread over 200 Deg C for exactly 20 minutes. Garlic bread is already.
  • You can serve garlic bread with cream cheese dipping or creamy mayonnaise dipping, cream cheese dipping, or some marinara sauce.
  • It also goes well with any type of pasta.
