Bread basket can be a very good tea time or evening snack. We are making neither making this basket in oven nor in cooker. We are making this bread basket in appam patra. So we can call is as crispy bread appe. These are crispy and crunchy. Do try this recipe at home and drop a comment for me. You also can like, share and subscribe.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup finely chopped Onion
  • 1 cup Mushroom
  • 1 cup finely chopped Spinach
  • Pizza sauce
  • Cheese
  • Clack olives
  • Red chilli flakes
  • Black pepper powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Garlic paste
  • Mixed herbs / Italian seasoning
  • 7 White bread slices
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil

Instructions

  • Wash the mushroom really good and chop into small pieces.
  • Heat up olive oil in a pan. You can use vegetable oil or any oil of your choice.
  • Add onion and fry it for just about 2-3 minutes until it turns nice and soft.
  • Add mushrooms, minced garlic and mix well.
  • Fry for about 3-4 minutes more.
  • You can add any veggies of your choice like different colored peppers, zucchini etc.
  • Add spinach, black pepper powder, mixed herbs, chilli flakes and mix well.
  • Fry for another 3 minutes.
  • Turn off the gas and add salt to taste.
  • Mix well and keep it aside.
  • Take bread slice and any katori available in your pantry.
  • You also can use lid of any jar or container.
  • Cut the bread into round disc with the help of katori.
  • Roll out the bread discs gently with the help of rolling pin. Don’t need to flatten the bread totally.
  • Grease the appam patra well with oil. You can use butter for greasing.
  • Fit the bread disc into each mould really good.
  • You can fold the edges so that the bread fits well into each mould.
  • Fill up the vegetable stuffing into each bread in each mould.
  • Add pizza sauce into each bread in each mould. You can use ketchup instead of pizza sauce.
  • Add some cheese into each bread in each mould.
  • Top it up with black olives.
  • Turn on the gas on lowest possible heat.
  • Put the appam patra on the gas and cook for about 4-5 minutes or until it turns nice and crispy from the bottom.
  • Turn off the gas and bread basket is already.
  • Take it out and serve.

Notes

  • The left put bread can be used to make egg sandwich or egg toast. Transfer the left out bread on the skillet, break 1 egg in it and your egg sandwich or toast is already.
  • Flatten the bread gently so that it fits well into the mould without tearing apart.
